two people sailing a dinghy in perfect conditions at Rudyard Lake

Would you like to join a thriving and active sailing club?

Sailing is an easy and low cost hobby and our club is growing fast thanks to fabulous facilities, a fun friendly atmosphere and an extensive training programme for all ages from 6 upwards.

We run regular social events, a Saturday Youth Section (Jybaz) Sunday and Wednesday evening Racing, and a novice adult section which starts with a formal training course and then regular support as you learn to sail. We run a wide range of sailing courses, and we have a range of modern sailing dinghies available for hire to members.

We have several categories of membership, catering for everybody from active sailors to people interested in other watersports (e.g. paddle-boarding, windsurfing) to people who are just interested in the social activities we offer.

We are a very family-friendly club and have family memberships, single adult memberships and reduced rates for under-25s.

If you are interested in becoming a member of Rudyard Lake Sailing Club, please use the menu on the right to find the right membership option for you. You can join online, or download our membership form and either bring it along to the club.

If you have any questions or queries about membership options, please email or call our Membership Secretary.

The best way to sample what a great club we are is to come down on a Saturday or Sunday any time from March onwards. We also run an Open Day on the Spring Bank Holiday.

Training

More information on the RYA accredited training we offer, and how we teach adults and juniors to sail, is in our Learn to Sail section.

Membership Types

Subscription Categories

These memberships are for full sailing members who would like to either use club boats or who have their own.

These are for people who are interested in other watersports, such as paddle-boarding or windsurfing.

Please note, we are not allowed to launch rowing boats, kayaks or similar from the sailing club as there is a dedicated rowing club at the head of the lake: http://www.rudyardlake.com/north-staffs-rowing-club-3/.

If you are not interested in getting out on the water, or are unable to do so, a non-sporting membership may be perfect for you. This will give you full access to the club's facilities at a reduced rate.

These subscriptions are for people who have their own dignhy and/or road trailer that they would like to leave at the club.
