Bar and galley services are changed with immediate effect.  Bar is exclusively table service from 16:00.  Sit at a table and whoever is on bar duty will come and take your order.  The galley will operate as normal from 10:30 but close by 16:00.  Masks MUST be worn in the clubhouse whenever you are not seated at a table.

Please download the NHS COVID-19 app from the Apple App store or Google Play store.  It's now the law that all public places have a poster with a QR code at the entrance.  Once you have the app, all you need to do is point it at the QR code for the club when you arrive.

Covid App QR Only

Although we are keeping the bar and galley open at this time, it must be by using table service, with payment via contactless card payment.

As a result of a lot of work by Tricia and in conjunction with the current RYA guidance we have updated our COVID-19 policy.

12 May 2020

Following this evening's committee meeting, Ian made the following announcement:

In light of the changes to the Covid-19 lockdown guidelines in England this week, I need to let you know the current position of RLSC.  Despite the loosening of some restrictions the sailing club is still closed.  The social distancing rules are still preventing our sailing and our insurance does not cover our operation at this time.  However, the RYA have issued some guidance on various measures that we can take to facilitate some limited sailing.  We are putting together a Covid working party to review this guidance to see what we can do within current, and possible future restrictions.  If you can offer some time, we would like you to volunteer to be on this team.  If you can help, can you email me by Friday (15/05).

We are also thinking of the future and there are quite a lot of club decorating jobs that need doing.  The restrictions prohibit this at this time, but if you can offer the club some time to do a bit of painting, we’ll add your name to a list so we can start this when the rules change to permit us.

We feel we have no choice but to suspend all club sailing activities with immediate effect until further notice.

We are however building an exciting series on electronic sailing regattas, please read this update from the sailing secretary for more details

The Charity Ceilidh scheduled for April 25th will be postponed indefinitely.  We hope to be able to reschedule this for later in the year. All club socials will be cancelled until further notice. This includes our fitting out supper.

We will keep the situation under review and may change our stance as the situation continues to develop.  We will keep you abreast of any changes.

Public Health England are keeping their website updated and this can be found at:  https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/public-health-england PLEASE FOLLOW THE GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES.

Stay safe and well, and don’t forget the sailing club is a community that looks out for each other, so if you need any sort of help, please ask.
